Privacy notice
Your privacy on this site
This notice explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you visit best-product-for.com — and, just as important, what does not happen without your say-so. Best Product For operates this site, and you can reach us any time through our contact page.
Our default: nothing non-essential loads until you agree
By default, we run no analytics and no third-party tracking. When you first visit, our consent choke-point holds every non-essential tag in a denied state, and nothing analytics- or marketing-related touches the network until you make a choice. This is default-deny: silence unless you opt in, never the other way around.
What we collect, and why
- Analytics, only after you consent. If you accept analytics in the banner, we run first-party analytics through Google Analytics 4, loaded via Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages help readers and which fall short. It is aggregate and statistical — we are measuring the site, not profiling you.
- Marketing measurement: off by default. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking. Those signals stay denied unless you ever explicitly turn them on.
- Server logs. Like most sites, our host records basic technical logs (such as IP address and request time) to keep the site secure and running.
- What you send us. If you contact us, we receive what you choose to write, so we can reply.
Consent Mode v2 and Global Privacy Control
We use Google Consent Mode v2. On every page load, all four signals — ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization — start denied. They change only when you grant consent, and only for what you granted. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal: if your browser sends it, we treat marketing signals as denied and leave them off. Because we default to not sharing data for cross-context advertising, that is our posture whether or not GPC is present.
Who processes data for us
When enabled by your choice, analytics is processed by Google. Our site is hosted on Vercel, which processes technical logs. Outbound product links go to Amazon (see affiliate links below). We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context advertising.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for analytics, and on legitimate interest for essential security and server logs. Marketing measurement would rely on consent too — and it stays off by default.
How long we keep data
We retain analytics data only as long as needed to understand how the site performs, and technical logs for a limited period for security. If you withdraw consent, we stop collecting analytics, and the analytics cookies set on your device — including _ga, _gid, and _gcl_* — are expired so they no longer identify you.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or erase your data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the selling or sharing of personal information — and we do not sell or share for cross-context advertising. To exercise any right, reach us through our contact page. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Affiliate links
Outbound links to Amazon are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission, and you pay nothing extra. The click passes an Amazon associate tag so the purchase is attributed to us. See our affiliate disclosure and cookies pages for more.
Changes and our commitment
We will update this notice as the site evolves and note the date above. This page is a careful starting point, not the last word: before public launch we are committed to reviewing it against live GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and CCPA/CPRA guidance, and to having qualified counsel review it. That is our commitment to you, not legal advice.
